Random note of hilarity.
Ehh hehehehehe.  The scene I just wrote is cracking me up.  Ah, the joys of fan fiction.

Never been a writer, but I used to read a LOT of LotR fanfic (earliest experience with ff.net and other LotR specific sites) and then a lot of HP fic as well. I might just have to check out one of your tales eventually. ;)

Hopefully, if you follow this link you can take a look at the Halloween costume. It's from 2006; those are my little cousins, who are still cute now that they're a whopping nine years old! My fan, though, was a piece of crap. It only figures since it was made out of posterboard and string. XD

Aw, I got a Forbidden. :(

Yeah, you're welcome to check out the fics, if you ever get bored. I'm a pretty new writer, so I think you can really see some glaring amateur mistakes, but my goal is to write interesting stories if nothing else. And practice. :)

See if it works now. I changed the security, though it should have allowed you before... This is why someone made me this icon. *points to the left*

Are you under the same username on ff.net? Can't guarantee when I'll get over...but maybe one day? XD Besides regular life and work and all, I'm also planning my wedding (January). :}

Cooool! I am so jealous of your fishnet leg-things. That's exactly what she would wear. Very awesome! Adorable children, too! (Well, I have to assume that the Power Rangers are adorable under their masks. *laugh*)

Oh, yeah, my ffn account is the same. But there's actually a link to it on the top of my LJ. "My Fan Fiction." No pressure, though. I'm more excited to find a human that actually knows who Shikamaru and Temari are on Hatrack. For years, anime was sort of the red-headed stepchild of the Hatrack world. It was like, "We're the cool nerds who read LoTR and Discworld and you're the uncool nerds who watch anime." So sad; can't they realize we're all one big family?

You're getting married? Congratulations! Yeah, January's not that far away at all when it comes to wedding planning. You must be crazy busy.

Woo hoo! It worked! If you ever do want to dress up... Buy yourself a pair of fishnet tights and cut off the legs either above the skirt line or at the knee. You can reinforce them by 'sewing' some thread through the loops so that they stay in place on your leg. I can't remember if I used a fishnet knee-high for the other leg, but most likely.

He he... There are definitely some geeky cliques like that. Is it always Blayne that's putting up anime threads?: Blayne's Ultimate Anime Thread soon to be followed by Blayne's Mega-Ultimate Anime Thread soon to be followed by The Coolest Anime Thread That Blayne and His History of Ultimate Mega-Ultimate Anime Threads has ever brought you!! No wonder the cool nerds give us funny looks. ;)

It's really funny, my fiance and I met through eharmony, but one of the things that caught his attention was the mention of OSC in my profile. Matt's not on hatrack, but OSC was definitely something that triggered a lot of talk between us. One funny phone conversation we had early on involved him being reluctant to admit he was a gamer (he even GM's a weekly Mage session) and my being reluctant to admit I liked to read fanfic in my free time and watched a ton of anime. Ah, memories.

That is so much like my husband and me. We met at church when we were teenagers, but what truly set off our relationship was when he admitted that he liked Sailor Moon. Heh. He's since grown somewhat beyond his anime obsession, largely because he only has enough free time for one hobby, and he chooses fighting games over anime. He builds "arcade" style joysticks that you can plug into your computer or Playstation and sells them online. They're pretty awesome.

I think Blayne was the first guy to come out and try and usurp a small corner of Hatrack for anime, although there was a tiny group of us back in the '04-'05 time frame. But, yeah...Blayne definitely gives us a weird rep. :D That's fine; I'll talk anime with him anytime he wants. I don't think he's much into Naruto, though.

Re: OSC, I've made so many connections with him as the basis. I really do think he speaks to a very specific audience, despite the fact that everyone on Hatrack seems to fight like animals. I think it's more the result of the clashing of too-similar personalities, but most of them would never admit that. God forbid that any two hard-heads admit that they're just alike, only with totally opposite political and religious views.

That's really cool!

Maybe it's just that he needs to mature a little bit just with time. That might tame him ever so slightly. ;)

You might have something there!
